Laboratory Instrumentation

ADPEN Laboratories uses state-of-the-art laboratory instrumentation for its analytical testing.
Some examples of the specialized instrumentation we use in the laboratory are listed below:

LC-MS/MS

Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) is an analytical chemistry technique that combines the physical separation capabilities of liquid chromatography (HPLC) with the mass analysis capabilities of mass spectrometry. LC-MS/MS is a powerful technique used for many applications which has very high sensitivity and selectivity. Generally its application is oriented towards the specific detection and potential identification of chemicals in the presence of other chemicals (in a complex mixture). At ADPEN Laboratories, Inc., we employ only the most sensitive and state-of-the-art LC-MS/MS triple quadrupole instruments:
LC-MS/MS at ADPEN Laboratories
1. Agilent 6490
2. AB Sciex Triple Quad 5500
3. Applied Biosystems API 4000QT
4. Applied BioSystems API 4000
5. PE Sciex API 3000

HPLC

HPLC At ADPEN Laboratories High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), is a chromatographic technique that can separate a mixture of compounds and is used in biochemistry and analytical chemistry to identify, quantify and purify the individual components of the mixture. ADPEN Laboratories, Inc. currently employs the following Agilent HPLC systems:1. Agilent 1290 (UHPLC)
2. Agilent 1200SL
3. Agilent 1100

GC and GC-MS

Gas chromatography (GC), is a common type of chromatography used in analytic chemistry for separating and analysing compounds that can be vaporized without decomposition. Typical uses of GC include testing the purity of a particular substance, or separating the different components of a mixture (the relative amounts of such components can also be determined). In some situations; GC may help in identifying a compound.ADPEN Laboratories, Inc. currently employs Agilent GC and GC-MS systems with the following detectors: ECD, NPD, FPD, FID, and MSD. Accelerated Solvent Extraction (ASE)

ASE at ADPEN Laboratories Accelerated Solvent Extraction (ASE) is a technique for the extraction of solid and semisolid sample matrices using common solvents at elevated temperatures and pressures. Extractions that normally take hours can be done in minutes using ASE.ADPEN Laboratories, Inc. currently employs a Dionex ASE 200 Accelerated Solvent Extraction (ASE) System for automated extraction of all sample matrices.
