MULTIRESIDUE TESTING
Raw Materials – Standard turnaround – 10 Business days
The comprehensive multi-residue pesticide screening can detect over 200 pesticides. These include organochlorines, organophosphates, organonitrates, and carbamates. The procedures used are the FDA's Luke Method and the California Dept. of Food & Agriculture Multiresidue Screen Method. Testing is also done by the USP <561> procedure.
For nutritional raw materials and finished products intended for use in the USA, no tolerances have been established by the US EPA, therefore, no pesticide residues should be present in these products. Other guidelines apply for other countries.
Samples are extracted with the appropriate solvent system to extract a broad range of pesticides. The pesticide residues are detected, identified and quantitated by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and by LC/MS. Detection limit of 0.01 ppm are typical, but depend on the sample matrix and compound detected. Results are reported in ppm or a Not Detected when no identifiable residues can be found.
